Cap Tamarin, the Smart City on Mauritius\u2019s west coast<\/h2>\n\n

Cap Tamarin is the extension of Tamarin village, on the west coast of Mauritius, in the Rivi\u00e8re Noire district. The project covers 44 hectares and is being developed in three phases, from 2018 to 2030, for around 1,200 homes. It is approved under the Smart City Scheme, which opens up the purchase to non-citizens and access to a residence permit above the regulatory thresholds.<\/p>\n\n

The guiding idea is \u201cLive, work and play\u201d: you live, work and unwind in the same place, without a car. A primary school, clinic, hypermarket, local shops, offices, sports facilities and a 3 hectare riverside park are on the estate or a few minutes\u2019 walk away. This is what sets Cap Tamarin apart from a stand-alone development: the neighbourhood is already up and running, with two developments completed and occupied for years.<\/p>\n\n

The estate has nine developments in total, six of which are detailed below. Three more complete the offering: Suncoast<\/strong>, thirty-two two-bedroom apartments of 125 to 144 m\u00b2 and four 230 m\u00b2 penthouses, 300 m from the beach, sold off-plan; 25 Somerset West<\/strong>, just nine homes \u2014 eight apartments of 194 m\u00b2 and one 258 m\u00b2 penthouse \u2014 entirely sold off-plan; the Terrasses du Barachois<\/strong>, thirty-five two- and three-bedroom apartments completed in 2016, the oldest on the estate.
