The comparison method looks at recent sales of similar properties in the same area: same type, comparable size, similar condition, nearby location. Mauritius has no dedicated professional order licensing private valuers: the recognised standard on the market is membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), which sets continuing training and methodology standards for its members, known as Chartered Valuation Surveyors.
