The novelty 2021 in Mauritius – the introduction of a new travel visa, the Premium Visa.
The Premium Visa is valid for one year, with an option to renew, to encourage valued travelers to settle in Mauritius as tourists, retirees or professionals.
The Premium Visa is now available to all non-citizens intending to stay in Mauritius for a period of one year as tourists, retirees or professionals wishing to work or carry on business remotely from Mauritius, in the company of their family.
To qualify for the premium visa, interested visitors must provide proof of their long-stay plans and adequate travel and health insurance for the initial period of stay while meeting the following criteria:
- Applicants should not enter the Mauritian labor market;
- the main place of business and/or the source of income and profits must be outside Mauritius
- Documentary evidence to support the application, such as the purpose of the visit, accommodation, etc. and
- other basic immigration requirements (all other entry requirements for Mauritius currently in force will also apply)
