Real estate prices in Mauritius
varies considerably depending on the sector. Waterfront properties generally sell for more than homes located further from the coast. Waterfront properties are only available to Mauritians, except for programs under the PDS or R+2 scheme which allow foreigners to acquire properties.
Following the Covid-19 pandemic, the Mauritian government lowered the amount of investment required to access residency through the purchase of a property under the PDS scheme to USD 375,000. This has made Mauritius more accessible for foreign nationals who wish to buy a property in this beautiful Indian Ocean destination.
