It is necessary to justify a transfer of 50 000$ and to realize a turnover of 4 million rupees from the 3rd year.

This permit is issued in your own name and for one person only. It entitles the family to a Dependent’s Permit: spouse, children, parents.

Investor :
A non-citizen is eligible to apply for an occupancy permit as an investor as long as they meet one of the following conditions:

  1. An investor, within the meaning of the Immigration Act, is a shareholder and director of a company incorporated in Mauritius under the Companies Act 2001.
  2. An investor must make an initial transfer of USD 50,000 or its equivalent in freely convertible foreign currency to the bank account of the company under which the application will be filed.
  3. The business activity must generate a cumulative turnover of at least 12 million rupees during the 3 years and a turnover of at least 2 million rupees per year.
  4. Une entreprise peut avoir plus d’un investisseur tel que défini ci-dessus. However, the initial investment and annual turnover will be a multiple of the number of investors in the company.
  5. An existing investor who operates but is not registered with theEconomic Development BoardThe company must have a net asset value of at least USD 50,000 or its equivalent in freely convertible foreign currency and a cumulative turnover of at least 12 million rupees during the 3 years preceding the application for an occupation permit.
  6. A beneficiary, an individual who has inherited a business, in the event of death or incapacity of the previous investor, provided that the net worth of the business is at least USD 50,000 or its equivalent in freely convertible foreign currencies and a cumulative turnover of at least Rs. 12 million during the previous 3 years and with a turnover of at least Rs. 2 million per year.
  7. Investor in high technology machinery and equipment.
  8. Investor for innovative start-ups

 

Foreign nationals may apply for an Innovator PO under the following 2 options:

  1. An initial investment of USD 40,000 or its equivalent in freely convertible currency and having a minimum operational expenditure of 20% in research and development
  2. Registered with an incubator accredited by the Mauritius Research and Innovative Council and having a minimum operational expenditure of 20% in research and development.
