The Mauritius Self-Employed Worker Permit is intended for non-citizens working in the service sector. To be eligible, candidates must register with the Companies Registry in accordance with the Companies Registration Act 2002. This permit authorizes the exercise of a one-person business activity, where the worker operates exclusively on his or her own behalf.

Conditions for obtaining this permit include an initial transfer of 35,000 USD (or the equivalent in freely convertible currency) to a local bank account in Mauritius at the time of permit issue. To renew the license, the business must generate an annual income of at least 800,000 rupees from the third year of registration.
